Lewis Alvin Workman, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, March, 1, 2026, at his home. He was born in Clear Creek, West Virginia, on August 6, 1949 to Goldie P. (Fields) and Leslie T. Workman, Sr.
He was a true outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting deer and fishing. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served two tours in Vietnam as a Green Beret, demonstrating courage, strength, and dedication to his country. Lewis was a devoted Christian who cherished attending church and living out his faith. Though he could be stubborn at times, he was also a big teddy bear at heart — kind, loving, and deeply cherished by everyone who knew him.
He worked in many factories and retired from the City of Mansfield after having worked for 32 years in the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Stimens) Workman; his children, Cassie (Mike) Taylor, Shannon (Darrin) Shope ; grandchildren, Kyle Metcalf, Logan (Alaina) Metcalf, and Caleb Shope; three great-grandchildren; sister, Drema Auckerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles Workman and Leslie Workman, Jr.
Family and friends are welcome to a graveside service on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1:00PM at Windsor Park Cemetery, 1752 Windsor Road, Mansfield, officiated by Pastor Randy Raynes.
