

Linda Ellen Looney, 68, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born October 30, 1948, in Richlands, Virginia, to Dennis and Ida (Bartley) Smith.
Linda retired from Sprint. She really enjoyed being computer savvy and followed her friends and family on social media, keeping connected, and having special conversations. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and traveling to new places. Linda was a huge OSU Buckeye fan. In her younger years, she enjoyed the adrenaline rush of roller coasters, quiet peace of the beach, and the challenge of fishing and hunting. She adored her grand puppies and great-grand puppies.
Linda is survived by her husband, Kenneth Looney; mother, Ida Ratliff of Elkhorn City, KY; daughter, Tammy (Tim) Bugher of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Taryn (John) Wahler of Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL; sister, Ella Mae Tapscott of Elkhorn City, KY; and special aunt, June Studer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Smith; and step father, Billy Ratliff.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Brother Buddy Carty, Brother Lon Beverly, and Brother Delmas Hall will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation in memory of Linda.
