
Linda Marie Payton, 68, of Mansfield passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Liberty Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born October 4, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Merle and Joan (Morlock) Coulter.
Primarily a homemaker, Linda was employed at Dairyland for 20 years and enjoyed working crossword and word search puzzles, dancing ~ especially to karaoke and BINGO. She was not afraid to stand her ground and was proud of accomplishing two important things on her bucket list ~ going on a cruise and to Niagara Falls. Some of her favorite times were spent with family at cookouts and gatherings and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Tom Keller) Payton, Charles Payton, Jr., Paul Payton and Angela Voigt; grandchildren, Timothy (Crystal) Rush, Nicole (Cody) Radcliff, Cora Murray, Steven Gordon, Jr. and Jasmine Smith; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Susan, Karen and Anna; a brother, Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Payton, Sr.; two brothers, Ronald and Terry; and her companion, Bill Brayton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
