

Lloyd Clair Bishop, 78, of Mansfield died September 27, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Born in McArthur, Ohio on January 12, 1924, Lloyd went to be with his Lord Friday morning. He was married to June A. Heinberger in 1947, who preceded him in death in 1996. He came to Mansfield in 1948 and worked for Columbia Gas until retiring in 1981. He had built four homes in Mansfield included the one he resided in for over 50 years. His main interests included traveling to see family, fishing, family gatherings at his home, tending a large garden, and maintaining his motor vehicles. Lloyd attended Berean Baptist Church and Cook Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by five children and their spouses, Patty and Jerry McCord, Wayne and Mary Bishop, all of Mansfield, Connie and Ted Nolen of Shelby, Ohio, Carol and Darold McKinley of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Janice and David Rogers of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren and their spouses, David McCord, Robert McCord, Amy and Howard Stephenson, Jennifer and Phillip Morganstern, Thomas Bishop, Mechille and Andrew Boroff, Richard and Jennifer Whisler, Melinda and David Dilyard, Rachel and Nick McGee, Steven and Brandy McKinley, Benjamin McKinley deceased, Rebekah McKinley, Kristina McKinley, Jonathan Rogers, Sharon Rogers, Nathan Rogers, and Sarah Rogers; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur and Loren Bishop; and a sister, Betty Dickey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Sarah Jordan Bishop; and three brothers, Glenneth, Gerald, and Ernest, Jr.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, September 29 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. William Heaton. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Berean Baptist or Cook Road Baptist Churches.
