Lois Rutherford

Proud to be born in West Virginia on December 20, 1955 Lois lived until age 18 in Cleveland, Ohio when she moved to Lorain County. She married the love of her life Marvin Rutherford December 19, 1976 and for twelve years they lived where the Army ordered including Texas, Georgia, California, Korea and Germany.

Their children are Patricia of Ashland, Marvin Jr. (Amber) of Ashland and Jessica of Columbus.

Hundreds of patients benefited from her compassionate care as Lois was worked for decades as an exemplary nurse’s aide, with twenty years at Kingston of Ashland. An avid reader Lois also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and her Mastiff, Edward.

Lois will be missed by her husband of 36 years, Marvin; her children, Patricia, Jessica and Marvin Jr. and his wife, Amber; her grandson, Jason; her foster parents, Judy and Philip Kocab; her mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Rutherford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 1233 U.S. Route 42, Ashland conducted by Pastor Butch White. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses in care of the funeral home.

Lois and her family appreciated the support of Pastor Butch White and members of the congregation during her illness.
