

Lora L. Johnson, 52, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, July 23, 2015, at her home. She was born May 22, 1963, in Wellington, Ohio, to Jerry Whitmore and Shirley (Brinker) Lindsey.
Lora lived in the Ashland area her entire life and was employed at Ashland University in Building Services. She was quite the baker and made birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends. Hosting family events and being with her treasured grandchildren brought great joy into her life. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping.
Lora was a staunch advocate for domestic violence awareness and brought this subject to light in many forums. A loving, selfless, generous woman, she was outgoing and fun to be around. Her humor and wit were contagious. Lora's strength and loving nature will live on in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Raymond Johnson; two daughters, Tara (Danny) Johnson and Tasha (Jeremiah) Holland, both of Ashland; one son, Shaun Jackenheimer of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Ciara, Leland, Brionica, Brylie, Elliana, Emarie, Trevor and Rowan; a brother, Jerry (Meg) Whitmore, Jr. of West Salem; two half-sisters, Tammy (Chuck) Warner and Dodi Barker, both of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Shirley and Donald Bruce Lindsey, and daughter, Lynn Jackenheimer.
Private family services will be observed with burial in Ashland Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Lora may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio, 44805. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
