
Luella Louise Kurtz, 85, of Mansfield, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. Born December 21, 1923, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Leo Milton G. Bennett and Pearl E. Gerke Bennett. She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and worked in several factories during wartime. She lived over 29 years between Mansfield and Florida. Luella loved reading novels and was a well known artist in our area with her works adorning the walls of several businesses. She always had the best vegetable gardens and loved to travel, boating, fishing and skiing.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Vickie Kurtz of Lucas and William Judy Kurtz of Bucyrus; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Kurtz, Sr.; a son, Harold V. "Butch" Kurtz; daughter, Charlotte Carmichael; and her parents.
A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mrs. Kurtz.
