
Lyman W. Franklin, 85, of Mansfield, died early Saturday morning, March 1, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born September 23, 1922 in Mansfield, he was the son of George and Beatrice Downs Franklin. He was the owner and operator of Franklin Home Improvement. Lyman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and was a member of Amvets Post #26. He enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his daughter, Marti and his dog, Maxx.
He is survived by three daughters, Marti M. Franklin of Mansfield, Lynett Jerry Brewer of Stewart, FL, Darlene Donald Enos of West Palm Beach, FL; a son, George Franklin of FL; a stepson, Sketter Nolan and his family of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Jerri Lynn, Crystal, J.J., Shawn, Jammi, Angela, Tracy, Nicholas, Curtis and Cody; five great-grandchildren, Daniella, Thomas, Hannah, Atlas and very special great-grandson, Gavin Lewis; one great-great grandchild, Johnathon; a brother, George Emma Franklin of Mansfield; three sisters, Marguerite Howman, Juanita Hill and Ruth Novak, all of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Betty and Ray Thompson of Mansfield. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret A. Franklin and his parents.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
