

Marcina B. Sloboda , 77, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 26, 1941 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Robert Simon Bowers and Audrey Louise (Fryman) Rowan.
Marcina was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. She adored her two horses and liked riding as well. She was a member of Crossroads Church and was very devoted to her faith. She was involved with church groups and Bible study. She and her husband, Ivan, enjoyed traveling together. She was an extremely caring person and absolutely adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Todd (Barbara) Sloboda, Robert (Lori) Sloboda, and Douglas (Kim) Sloboda; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Aaron) Craft, Mark Sloboda, Alex Sloboda, Tim (Dawn) Sloboda, Greg (Riley Fortman) Sloboda, Kelsee Flannery, Weslee (Alicia) Flannery, and Lauren Sloboda; her great-grandchildren, Parker Sloboda, Cheyenne Craft, Cole Ziegler, and Lila Ziegler. One of her favorite sayings was, "I like to walk with grandma her steps are short like mine. She doesn't say "hurry up" she always takers her time. Most people have to hurry, they don't stop to see. I'm glad that God made grandma unrushed and young like me". She is also survived by her sister, Martha McCartney; numerous nieces and nephews; many cousins; and her faithful companion, her dog, Clyde. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Sloboda, on October 20, 2006.
The family will greet friends at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington Springmill Road, on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Wounded Warrior Project.
