

Marilyn J. Layne, 61, of Candlewood Lake, Mt. Gilead, OH died October 18, 2013. She was born on July 29, 1952 in Marion, OH to Claude and Flossie (Thacker) Napper. Marilyn graduated from Marion Harding high school in 1970. She worked for Big Bear in the meat department where she retired from after 10 years of service. Marilyn was a kind, direct, generous woman who enjoyed working on the computer, spending time with her grandchildren, and tending to her flowers, plants, and birds. She was an avid bowler in her younger years, playing on several different leagues. Traveling to Las Vegas with her husband Larry, and her brother Tom and his wife Linda was one of her favorite things to do.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Layne of Candlewood; son Chad Layne of Candlewood; daughter Dawn (Darrell) Adkins of Candlewood; five grandchildren, Nate Adkins, Caitlin Adkins, Megan Adkins, Whitney Layne, and Kelsey Porretta; brother, Tom (Linda) Napper of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin Portia (Bob) Thompson of Castalia, OH.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger Napper and Larry Napper; and two grandchildren, Peyton Adkins and Emily Adkins.
