She was born October 25, 1943, in Mansfield, OH to Howard James and Helen Mae (Biddle) Shoup.
Marty attended NOMS Education Center, where she earned her Executive Secretary degree. She began her career with Chesapeake Packaging and Display Company, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She had a gift for uplifting others and found great joy in sending thoughtful cards to family and friends for every occasion, making each person feel remembered and loved. She was outgoing, possessed timeless beauty, and had an infectious laugh that brightened every room. Her faith in Christ was the foundation of her life, and she shared His love with everyone she met. In her free time, Marty especially enjoyed bowling, one of her favorite pastimes.
Marty is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Duane I. Dickey, having met online and courting for 2 years before their marriage. She is lovingly remembered by her stepchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; brother, James M. Shoup, Lewis Center, OH; sister, Carol Smith, Radcliff, KY; and sister-in-law, Janice Klupp, Mansfield, OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard James Shoup; mother, Helen Mae (Biddle) Shoup; and her first husband, Marvin Klupp.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Philip Feltman. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
