Mary Carney

Mary Paula Carney, 68, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mary was born February 1, 1936 to the late John E. and Freda Harper Reed, living in Mansfield all her life. She and her husband, Howard L. Carney, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws, Howard Neal and Wilma Carney and John Chris and Sandra Carney, all of Mansfield; two daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Charles Briner of Shelby, and Debra Carney of N. Lauderdale, Florida; a sister, Carolyn Reynolds of Mansfield; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia Reed; seven grandchildren, Jessica Marie Jeffers, Aubrie, Jeremy, and Mary Alyssa Carney, Christopher Briner, Jeanelle Au, and Deanna Jennings; four great-grandchildren, Zec and Alex Speelman, Scott Jennings, and Joshua Lee Jeffers; several nieces and nephews; and her closest and dearest friend, Ellen Myers. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, April 28 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Dr. Bruce Philippi at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
