

Mary Margaret Kirkpatrick, 93, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord peacefully Saturday, July 21, 2018 surrounded by her family at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born March 28, 1925 in Shelby, she was the eldest of six children born to Geraldo and Eloisa (Ugalde) Chavez.
Mary was very loving and caring as well as outgoing and spicy who made friends with everyone she met. She had a servants heart and was always there to help her family and close friends. Mary worked at Mansfield Tire until they closed and then worked for Hartman Electric. She lived each moment to the fullest and was an avid bowler, having played on many leagues where she earned numerous trophies. Mary loved to garden and travel whenever possible and was a member along with her husband, Carl, of the Sons of Herman.
She is survived by a son, Michael Carl Kirkpatrick; former daughter-in-law and her daughter, Terry Kirkpatrick and Tristina Logan; a sister, Anna Simon; a brother, Joseph Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kirkpatrick; three sisters, Josephine King, Rose Cain and Joan Welch; and a great niece, Natasha Treadway.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Matthew Pond. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
