Mary Schafer

Mary Quinn 'Mike' Schafer, 70, of Mansfield, died Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Born May 30, 1935, in Steubenville, to Robert and Margaret Collins Quinn. She graduated from Steubenville High School in 1953 and The Ohio State University in 1957 where she was a member of Phi Beta Phi Sorority. Mike worked with her husband, James H. Schafer at the Karl Schafer Company. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting, crafting and collecting miniatures.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James H. Schafer; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Michael Ashley; daughter, Kimberly Kuhn; grandchildren, Whitney and Allison Ashley and Collin and Cameron Kuhn; brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Marianne Quinn; and her beloved dogs, Jack and Sam. Her parents preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, July 22, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. David Root. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
