Max Martin

Max G. Martin, 71, passed away early Thursday morning, February 3, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born January 9, 1940 in Plymouth, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. Max retired as a railroad clerk. He enjoyed watching old time movies, working on computers, and playing cards-especially Euchre. Max's family was his main hobby and he enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Owens Martin; four sons, Matthew Martin fiancée, Jackie Owens, Max Roy Martin, all of Mansfield, Mark Allen Martin of SC and Michael J. Martin of VA; two grandchildren, Emily and Timothy Martin; two sisters, Jean Fast of MA and Wilma Harris of Mansfield; and two nieces, Deb Cerce and Theresa Haradon, both of MA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max W. Martin and Mildred Payne Martin.

Friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services conducted by Rev. James Owens will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by military honors from the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth, Ohio, will follow the services.
