Merrill Hambly

Merrill G. Hambly, age 76, formerly of 1049 City View Drive, died Thursday June 8, 2000 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Hambly was born June 2, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio living in the Mansfield area since 1940. He retired from Westinghouse Corporation in 1987 after 44 years of service. Mr. Hambly was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during World War II.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheralynn & Robert Laug of Mansfield; and Linda Hambly of Mansfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julianna A. Wilhelm Hambly whom he married October 8, 1944 and she died April 5, 1988; and a son, Mark David Hambly whom died September 13, 1985.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday June 11, 2000 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday June 12, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Kevin K. Thomas. Military graveside services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research.
