Michael James Brown, 70, of Mansfield, died early Thursday morning, April 1, 2010 at Hospice of North Central Ohio in Ashland. Born April 16, 1939, in Mansfield, he was the son of James and Pauline Tedrow Brown. He was the owner and operator of Mike s Transmission. A fan of all types of racing, Mike especially enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and the Late Model Dirt Track Racing Association. Mike attended Crossroads Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wittmer Brown; two daughters, Jody Brown Ronnie Jeffries and Michelle Brown, both of Mansfield; and a granddaughter, Chloe Mikala Jeffries. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2010 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
