

She was graduated from Mansfield Senior High in the June 1943 class. On August 4, 1945, she married Donald E. "Bob" Bird and they shared 63 1/2 years together. Miriam was a charter member of Frauen Choir. She retired from the law firm of Anderson, Will, O'Donnell & Kitzler, as a legal secretary. Miriam volunteered in the Ohio Reads Program at Ontario Elementary School for 7 years.
Miriam was a member of the Illinois Avenue Apostolic Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for 57 years.
She is survived by one son, Gerald E. "Jerry" (Erika) Bird; four grandchildren, Nichole (Jason) Anglin, Danielle (Greg) Ledford, Seth (Allison) Bird and Martin (Crystal) Bird; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mason and Keelie Anglin, Samuel and Thomas Ledford, Jedidiah, Audrey and Whittaker Bird, all of Georgia; two brothers, Charles Sauder of Sunbury, Ohio and Eugene Sauder of Scottsdale, Arizona; sister-in-law, Marion Sauder of Ashland, Ohio; and many special nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Miriam was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Martha Schuff, Bertha Miller, Elma Kiser, Wilma McCutchan, Louise Heckle; and one brother, Paul Sauder.
Friends and family may visit at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from 2-5 p.m. The funeral services conducted by the Apostolic Christian Church will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Apostolic Christian Church, 84 N. Illinois Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio, with additional visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery following the service.
