

Muriel Frances Jones, 85, of Mansfield, died Friday afternoon, February 6, 2014 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born July 30, 1928 in Falmouth, Massachusetts to Theodore Monroe and Bessie Viola (Foster) Childs. Muriel was a gourmet cook and had a love of seafood, especially lobster and clams. Muriel had a love of anything pertaining to Cape Cod or cats. She also raised her own vegetable garden. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed sewing and crafts.
She is survived by three children, Diana (Steven) Fike, Gary (Linda) Jones and John M. Jones, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Christina (Aaron) Fry, Timothy Giesige, Alysson (James) Webster, Justin (Jennifer) Jones and Dylan Jones; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey (Chad) Copley, Andrew and Jacob Myers, Carter, Brian and Jonathan Fry and James Webster; and two great-great grandchildren, Trevor Kinnamon and Branton Copley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John P. Jones; daughter, Carol Jones; great-grandson, Chaydon Jones; and sister, Shirley Ann Wood.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
