
Myrtle Basilone, 81, of Mansfield, died early Thursday morning, June 7, 2007 at Lexington Court Care following an extended illness. Born December 6, 1925 in Sandusky, she was the daughter of Christ and Helen Bridges Peterson. She retired from Marco Photo Service. Her love for cooking made the kitchen one of her favorite places. Mrs. Basilone loved spending time with her grandchildren. An avid reader, she also enjoyed watching her children play sports and had a love for The Ohio State Buckeyes.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita McElfresh, and her boyfriend, Darell Parish, of Mansfield; four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marge Basilone of Milan, Frank and Natalie Basilone, Jr., Tony and Patti Basilone, and Scott and Kelli Basilone, all of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Bradlee, Todd, Abbie, Tyler, Brody, Michelle, and Anne; ten great-grandchildren, Wesley, Colton, Nadia, A.J., Madison, Cloe, Chance, the future Miss Claire, Jacob, and Bella; one brother and sister-in-law, Chris 'Bud' and Lois Peterson of Sandusky; numerous nieces and nephews; and family friends, Frank Russo and Irene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Patrick Basilone, Sr.; parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Phil Green. Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the family.
