

Nancy A. Jennings, 68, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, July 7, 2013. She was born June 23, 1945 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Margaret (Batterson) and William Adams. She graduated from Minford High School. She was a member of McElroy Road Church of Christ, and true to her giving nature, volunteered as a Unit Leader, was in charge of the Nursery, and could always be found helping out in the kitchen.
Nancy was a wonderful, woman who always put others first. Caring for her family and cooking their favorite meals was a pleasure. Family and church were most important to her. She looked forward to her yearly vacations to Salt Fork State Park, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She was a great cook and canned or froze vegetables and fruits from her husband's garden to enjoy throughout the year. Nancy was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed watching the Young and the Restless.
Nancy is survived by two daughters, Deborah (John) Whaley and Dawn Etzel, both of Mansfield; four grandsons, Connor, Morgan, Tanner and Caiden; one granddaughter, Payton; two sisters-in-law, Ursula Adams of Portsmouth and Barbara (Paul) Barnhart of West Alexandria, OH; two brothers-in-law, Gordon (Linda) Jennings of Bentonville, AR and Larry (Judy) Jennings of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and many very good friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray "Rooster" Jennings and brother, William "Sonny" Adams.
Friends and family may visit from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be in the funeral home Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Minister Dan Nichols officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Mansfield Memorial Park will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to McElroy Road Church of Christ Youth Fund.
