Nelson Jones

He had been a resident of Galion for many years and had also resided in Florida. He was the founder of United Church Directories of Galion and a member of Gospel Baptist Church of Galion. He enjoyed horses, horse racing and photography.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Deana (Griffey) Jones, whom he married November 21, 1989; a son, Ed (Beverly) Jones of Texas; two daughters, Debra Jones and Christie Jones, both of Mansfield; a step son, Shaun McCarty of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Nauman; a brother, Clell (Louise) Jones; a sister-in-law, Gay Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Jones; two sisters, Lydia Egans and Lucille Porter; and an infant brother and infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Monty Trammel. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
