

Norma M. Boyd, 74, of Lexington, died May 26, 2015. Born September 17, 1940 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Norman Neal and Florence (Beachler) Eggerton. A true animal lover, Norma enjoyed riding horses in her younger years and as she grew older, developed a true love for birds. A loving, passionate lady, she took care of the bird trail at Gorman Nature Center and spent her free time nurturing hurt or sick birds back to health. Trips to casinos, listening to music and watching the birds were her favorite past times. Norma always had strong opinions and she was very generous with her time to local causes, including volunteering with RSVP at many local organizations.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Earl "Mitch" Boyd, whom she married February 8, 1963; daughter, Tammy S. Boyd of Mansfield; grandchildren, Crystal (J.C.) Decker of Columbus and Ryan Newcomer of Marysville; granddog, Precious; and good friend, Denise.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Ronald Newcomer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario, conducted by Pastor Dennis N. Eggerton. Family and friends are invited to visit for one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery.
