
Norma Jean Price experienced her home going July 11, 2009 after a short stay at Hospice of North Central Ohio surrounded with love by her family. Norma was born on November 15, 1940, the daughter of Evelyn and John Jones. Norma graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1959. She married Robert A. Price on July 28, 1972 at the First English Lutheran Church, where she has been attending and a member since she was a little girl. She also was very active in church and would send many cards to other members wishing them to get well, birthday wishes, and anniversary congrats. Norma also taught Sunday school. Norma attended Mansfield Christian Women, where she was always table hostess and a phone caller. Norma worked at Tappan and was a Quarter Century Club member, working 29 years. Getting to know her co-workers was a priority to her. Norma also worked at National Seating and Mitch's Grocery Store in the 50's. Norma attended the Lexington Senior Citizens and also Faith United Church Good Neighbors Day Luncheons. She was a member of the American Legion, Post #16 Auxiliary and a member of the United Steel Workers of American IUE 8576 and belonged to the Tappan Girls Club. She was the owner of many dogs that she loved and took great care of them. Norma and Bob spent many vacations with nephew Christopher Velotta, taking him to many places with a historical background.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Carl Burton of Parma; nephew, Christopher Velotta his fiancé, Michele and her children, Elizabeth and Nicole; nieces, Tracy Frank Remich and their son, Nicholas, Darlene Nevel and her daughter, Holly Popovich; a cousin, who was like a sister, Janet Sue Jaynes; and many wonderful neighbors on Yorktown Drive. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Price; sister, Karen Wilbert Savage; and many aunts and uncles. Friends may call Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Ave W., Mansfield, officiated by Pastor Paul Larson and Pastor Cloyd Kress. Burial will follow in the 16 Cemetery in Crawford County. Memorial contributions may be made to the First English Church Remodeling project or the Susan L. Jaynes Scholarship Fund with the Richland County Foundation.
