

Bill worked for General Motors for eight years and retired from truck driving following 30 years of service as a steel hauler. Following his retirement, he worked as a custodian for Madison High School for ten years. Bill was always smiling and happy and wanted others to feel the same way, even during his illness. He was a member of the Shiloh Masonic Lodge #545 where he was a past Master Mason, a longtime member of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., a member of the Fun Center Chordsmen where he served as assistant director for a number of years and a member of the Gold Wing Riders Association Chapter B&V.
Bill was a great storyteller and entertainer to all. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fishing and boating but his greatest joy was his family ~ as they were the most important thing in his life.
He is survived by a son, Daniel (Lorrie) Roberts of Zanesville, OH; two daughters, Barbara (Scott) Huvler and Diane (Donald Turpin) Roberts all of Mansfield; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four brothers, David (Carol) Roberts, Robert (Lu) Roberts and Charles Roberts all of Mansfield and Russell (Linda) Roberts of Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews and other relatives that he dearly loved; and a special friend, Shirley Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Troupe) Roberts; a son, Richard Roberts; and his parents.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield where Masonic Services will be held at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at the funeral home conducted by longtime family friend David Calland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barbershop Harmony Society.
