
Paul W. Palmer, 85, of Mansfield, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at his home after an extended illness. He was born May 16, 1920 in Mansfield. He was the son of Harold A. and Mildred Dillie Palmer. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Mr. Palmer retired from Peabody Barnes in 1982. He was a lifetime member of the Springfield Township Fire Department. He was a Past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans District #5. He was a member of the Galion Free Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #430. Loving the outdoors, he enjoyed his farming, boating and fishing at Lake Erie. Paul loved his family and was so proud of his grandsons, Wes and Chris.
He is survived by one daughter, Marsha Palmer of Mansfield; grandsons, Wesley Karen Hampton, and Chris Lana Hampton; great grandchildren, Sherry and Amanda; sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Noblet of Mansfield and Sandra and Jim Bush of Dunedin, Florida; sisters-in-laws; Wilma Palmer of Mansfield and Masako Palmer of Martinez, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; and great neighbors, Lois and Andy Urban. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Bates Palmer; parents; and two brothers, Gerald and Bernard Palmer.
Family wishes to thank Dad's Hospice care givers, Debbie, Mary Lee, Stacie, Becky and Deb for Dad's special loving care during his illness.

Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Paul Walter. Military
Graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
