

Paula Kay Birmelin, age 71, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. born August 4, 1941 in Marion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Christine (Ralston) Music.
Paula had previously worked at All State Insurance, D & W Auto Glass and Kmart, but her family was by far, her most important job. She was a loving, giving person who was always there for someone, whether they needed a hug or just someone to listen and give great advice.
He loving, gregarious nature made her a joy to be around and children flocked to her. She enjoyed camping, fishing and listening to Gospel music.
Paula earned her Bachelor Degree from Circleville Bible College. Her love of music was present in all areas of her life from singing in the choir at Trinity United Methodist Church, creating and directing the Little Evangels Children's Choir at church, playing trumpet and piano, to singing duets with her husband, Edward.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edward Birmelin; three daughters, Nancy Keith of Mansfield, Tina (Andrew) Zellner of Galion and Tammy (Dean Mowry) Ailstock-Mowry of Galion; three grandsons, Steve Zellner, Kevin Ailstock and Colin Ailstock; three granddaughters, Shelby Zellner, Desiree Abrahms and Shannon Keith; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Ray (Rosemary) Music of Indiana; a niece, Melissa; a nephew, Christopher; three great-nieces; her faithful aide throughout the years, Andrea Moll; and several close friends and other dear relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Keith.
Friends and family may visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012. A funeral service conducted by Rev. Robert Stull will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Mansfield Memorial Park.
