She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School class of 1967 and worked for many years in the admitting department at what was known as Mansfield General Hospital. An avid reader, you would often find her sitting with a book in one hand and coffee in the other. A larger than life personality with a smile that would light up the entire room and giggles that were infectious and caused others to laugh right along with her. Penny volunteered often with Toys for Tots with her Mom, Dad, and brother. She loved travels with her best friend and brother to casinos in the US and Canada. Her favorite music was anything 60’s and she loved watching all Westerns but specifically any with John Wayne. Penny was also an avid golfer and bowler, even earning a number of awards along the way.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Kelsay; parents, Peter Kovinchick, Sr. and Mary Kovinchick; and siblings, Peter Kovinchick Jr., Paul Kovinchick, Judy Edwards, and Michael Kovinchick.
Penny is survived by daughter, Lisa Kelsay; son, Greg (Soni) Kelsay; and sister, Patty Hamilton. She will also be missed by those who called her “Mom K.”
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Oak Grove Care Center for their exceptional care given to Penny.
