

Peter Gordon Ross Jr., 98, of Mansfield passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Oak Grove Manor where he was a resident for three months. He was born on August 5, 1919 in Mansfield, OH. He was the son of Peter G. Ross Sr. and Janet (Moyer) Ross.
Peter was a lifelong resident of Mansfield. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp where he was trained as a gunner on a B17 bomber.
He is survived by his children, Karen Lee of Athens, Greece, Harry Ross of Berthoud, Colorado, Charlie Ross of Nova, Ohio, and Bernie Ross of Bellingham, Washington; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a niece; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and his wife of 50 years, Marcella Ross.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street from 10:00-11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mel Schroeder. Burial will take place at Mansfield Cemetery will full military honors by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
A special note of thanks and appreciation to his nephew and friend Al Touby, to Kathy Wellington his faithful and loving caregiver and to all those at Oak Grove Manor who so graciously and kindly cared for him during his time there.
