

His family moved to America when he was 12 years old. Philip joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving for a total of six years. He was employed at Rable Screw and Machine for 51 years.
Philip was a collector of left handed pencils, creating many pieces of artwork with these unique items. He was fascinated with trains and collected many HO scale trains throughout the years. He enjoyed camping, woodworking and photography. Philip was a faithful fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and OSU football team. He was a member of the Lions Club.
His family was most important to him and he set a wonderful example for them to follow. A man of conviction, his strength, determination and morals leave a legacy that will be cherished by all. He enjoyed teasing his children and grandchildren and traveling with them brought special joy.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Roberta Jane (Fry) Klaus; three children, William Klaus, Katharina Clippinger and John (Jennifer) Klaus; and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandra Clippinger and Andrew and Abrielle Klaus. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joeseph, Henery and John; and sisters, Eva and Elizabeth.
A celebration of Philip's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to assist the family with arrangements.
