
Rachel Lee Wilson, 17, of Mansfield, died early Friday morning, January 6, 2006, at Samaritan Regional Health System after a 1½-year illness. She was born March 15, 1988, in Mansfield to Wendell Keith and Mary Lee Smith Wilson. Rachel completed her sophomore year of school at Ontario High School where she was a member of the tennis team, FCCLA and Rainbow choir. She worked at Droopy's Drive-In and in her spare time loved going to Cedar Point with her friends. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister and best friend, Emily Wilson, at home; grandfather, Wendell Wilson of Fairfield; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins from Hamilton, Ohio; and special friends, Elizabeth Burnette, Michael Stoffer and Amy Hull, all of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thelma Wilson and Dick and Louise Smith.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, January 8, from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services conducted by Rev. James Winkler will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Ontario United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the Family Career Community Leaders of America at Ontario High School.
