
Raymond Crawford, 71, of Mansfield died Monday morning September 27, 1999 at MedCentral Mansfield after an extended illness. Mr. Crawford was born November 4, 1927 in Salt Petre, West Virginia. He retired from Westinghouse after 43 years of service. Mr. Crawford attended Hillside First Church of God and although riddled by illness throughout the last decade, he maintained membership in Moose Lodge #341 and VFW Post 3494. He will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Marion 'Addie' Crawford; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda & Mike Thomas and Mary & Albert Ousley, all of Mansfield, and Sandee & Daniel Pritchard of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Heather Thomas of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael Raymond Thomas and Ashley and A.J. Ousley, all of Mansfield, and Taya Pritchard, a freshman at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, North Carolina; three brothers, Charles Crawford of Mansfield, Arley Crawford of Galion, and Joe Crawford of Fort Gay, West Virginia; and four sisters, Opal Valsamides and Jenny Lamb, both of Crestline, Avonelle Hale of Kenova, West Virginia, and Faye Skendrovich of California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Bertha Sophia Thompson Crawford; and a sister, Mildred. Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Glenn Phillips.
