Raymond Sedmak

Raymond Sedmak, 76, of Galion, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Avita Health System-Galion Hospital. He was born September 29, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late John and Mary (Chandek) Sedmak.

Ray was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps. He retired from Hi-Stat after many years of service. All his life he enjoyed tinkering with something and his cars were his favorite. His most enjoyable times were spent in the company of his family and making lasting memories.

He is survived by two sons, Scott (Christine) Sedmak and David (Terri) Sedmak, both of Galion; six grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Caitlin, Ben, Matthew and Megan; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Sedmak and Joyce McQuade, both of PA; a brother, Bill (Lynn) Powell of PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at Grace Point, 683 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Walter will conduct the service. Ray will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
