
Rebecca Jane Mosberg, 91, died Friday morning, April 18, 2003. Born Rebecca Jane Trease in Mansfield on December 8, 1911, she was the only daughter of the late Clark and Hallie Trease of this city. A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, she was voted the most popular girl in high school.
Mrs. Mosberg was the widow of Israel M. Mosberg who preceded her in death in 1990. Her son James Robert Van Voorhis of Kent preceded her in death in March of this year. Mrs. Mosberg is survived by her son, the Rev. C. Richard Van Voorhis of Mansfield, and by her only daughter, Patricia Fournier of Mansfield. Also, one son-in-law, Michael Fournier of Mansfield. Her surviving family includes a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Keith and Tracy Fournier and daughters, Victoria and Rylei, all of Guthrie, Kentucky; Paul Van Voorhis of San Francisco, California; Elizabeth Van Voorhis Hall and son Joshua of Elkton, Oregon; Michele Van Voorhis of Lake Mary, Florida; Eric and Andrea Stevens, daughter, Taylor and son, Ryan of Brimfield; and Melanie Carder and daughter, Olivia of Akron.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday, April 21, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral celebration of Mrs. Mosberg's life will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Marcus Buehrer will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Mansfield Cemetery. Flowers are welcome as well as memorial contributions to a charity in Mrs. Mosberg's name.
