
Rebecca J. Moore Arntz Peed, 74, of Mansfield and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at her home. Born February 1, 1933 she was the daughter of Charles Clifford and Mana V. Fox Moore. She attended Lucas schools and Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing. She was an R.N. and had worked at Mansfield General Hospital, Akron General Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland and West Boca Raton Hospital. She was a patient transport Flight Nurse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida transporting patients from foreign countries to the U.S. for medical care. She was the team nurse for the New York Yankees during spring training in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Rebecca flew planes and participated in Women's Air Angel Derby in 1979. An avid 17th century antique collector and dealer, she owned a shop in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Billy M. Peed; daughter, Aleta Jim Crunkilton of Mansfield; two stepdaughters, Alison Holifield, Marla Peed; stepson, Blake Jane Peed; granddaughter, Kelly Crunkilton of Mansfield; two step granddaughters, Emily and Laura; sister, Suzie Frank Marcucci; mother-in-law, Mary Alice Peed; sister-in-law, Doris Moore; cousin, Patty Bob Ohly Brook and their son, Jeff; four nieces, Julie Jeff Geisel and their son, Christopher, Kay Causer, Jennifer Sveda and Laurie Causer; nephew, Chip Dawn Lomax and their children, Rachel and Bo; a special lifelong friend, Michael Warner; and her dog, Blaze. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Walter and Zane Moore, nephew, Michael, and aunt and uncle, Vic and Doris Ohly.
Friends may call Saturday, June 2 from 4-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Memorial services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Dr. David Aune. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44875.
