Richard "Rick" D. Blackford

He was a 1973 graduate of Madison High and had worked for Ideal Electric as an industrial painter. He was a member of McElroy Road Church of Christ. He was very detailed oriented and generous who helped anyone he could. He could start up a conversation with anyone and loved to joke and tease. He loved Ford trucks and enjoyed working on cars. He also collected model trains and enjoyed playing guitar in his younger years.

He is survived by three daughters, Mickie Blackford (Randy Sasser) of Fredericktown, Lisa Blackford and Stephanie Edwards both of North Carolina; a son, James Blackford of Mansfield; his mother, Janice Blackwell of Mansfield; his grandchildren; and a sister, Debra (David) Anderson of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Dianne Shearer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Mike Wilson. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.
