

Richard L. King, 68, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Richard was born October 26, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the son of the late Clarence V. and Letha F. (McElroy) King.
Richard was a trustee at the Hanna Road Church of God, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a remote control aircraft enthusiast and an avid racing fan. He also enjoyed golfing with friends and family.
Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda S. (Cole) King; sons, Kevin (Katherine) King and Bruce (Erica) King; grandchildren, Steven (Nikki) Symsick, Tori King, Christa and Timothy King; great-grandchildren, Ian and Dane Symsick; a sister, Carol Ann King; special friends, Fran Bean and Norm Elliott; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Robert and Myron King.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Rev. Floyd Scaggs and Rev. Ferlie Yates will conduct the service which follows at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Lantz Cemetery will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
