

Richard Paul Myers, Sr., age 79, passed away early Friday morning, May 8, 2015, at Liberty Nursing Center. He was born September 3, 1935, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Kasmer Paul Myers and Mary Sabo Myers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and life member of AmVets Post #26. After 32 1/2 years, he retired from General Motors. He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling and horse racing. His most treasured times were spent with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ellen (Ritchey) Myers, whom he wed on March 2, 1957; two sons, Richard P. (Karen) Myers, Jr. and James (Patty) Myers; six grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Jennings, Richard P. Myers III, David Wayne (Tracy) Myers, Jr., Ashley Myers (Jason Johnson), Matt (Stacey) Cooper, Joe (Katie) Cooper and Jamie Young; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenny (Sharon) Myers; and a sister, Loretta (Stan) Conrad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David W. Myers, and brother, Albert Myers.
The memorial service will be held May 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road conducted by Pastor Matthew Pond. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m.. AmVets Post #26 will present military honors. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
