Richard Owens

Born May 6, 1936, in Harold, KY, he was the son of William and R. Minnie Jane Gillespie Owens. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW and past member of the AMVETS.

He is survived by eight children and thier spouses, Richard Owens, Jr. of Fredericktown, Terry A. and Virgil Stults of Delaware, Tony and Judy Owens, David and Shirley Owens, Mark Owens, Sr., Matthew and Heather Owens, Misty Owens, and Mark Owens, Jr. all of Ashland; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Shaller of Whitehall and Mary Samons of Martin, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly Huff Owens, in 1997; four brothers; three sisters; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Ashland home of Wappner Funeral Directors.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park.
