Richard Pittman

Richard G. Pittman, 82, of Mansfield died Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2001, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Pittman was born December 4, 1918 in Richland County to Clyde & Nellie Gorby Pittman. He retired from Shaffer Valve where he worked in the maintenance department. Richard was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #16. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Ruth Bauer Pittman, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Mullins and Connie Hostettler both of Mansfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Edna Pittman; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Herman Krise; brother-in-law, Clifford Tucker, all of Mansfield. His parents, Clyde & Nellie Pittman and two sisters, Dorothy Grafmiller and Ruth Tucker preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday, October 24 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home Thursday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Bonnie Peltomaa. Military graveside services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
