

He grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from South High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 and spent thirteen months in Seoul, South Korea. Rich graduated from Pittsburgh Art Institute with an Associate degree in Commercial Art. He met the love of his life, Margaret Cubbison, in 1968 and they married in 1969. They were married for 51 happy, contented years.
Rich moved to Ohio in 1971 and began working at D & M Packing. He then worked at Ohio Seamless Tube/Copperweld/Arcelor Mittal for 31 years, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed his retirement by taking walks and spending time with his family. Rich will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who was a hard worker, lover of all food and a funny guy. He was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church where he served as an usher for many years.
Rich is survived by his wife, Margaret Puckett; four children, Jeannette Koehler, Stephanie (Brian) Scott, Lori (Rick) Walters and Jonathan (Angie) Puckett; thirteen grandchildren, Mark Walters, Beth Walters, Joel Mulvihill, Emily Pardue, Chance Mulvihill, Mia Brannon, Sophia Reed, Arianna Walters, Hunter Walters, Lucas Knipp, Brody Koehler, Brooklyn Puckett and Drew Puckett; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Gary (Denise) Puckett and Bruce (Pam) Puckett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Puckett; and his mother, Dorothy Geisman Puckett.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Westside Baptist Church, 3720 W. Fourth St., Ontario. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. In adhering to the governor's mandate, all guests are required to wear a face covering and maintain appropriate social distancing during their visit. He will be laid to rest in Bellville Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bellville American Legion.
