
Rickey C. Moore, Sr., 45, of Mansfield, died August 15, 2007. He passed away early Wednesday afternoon at his home surrounded by his loved ones following an extended illness. He was born October 19, 1961 in Clay, West Virginia and lived in the Mansfield area his entire life. Rick had been an employee at Hall's Auto Sales, Jerry's Auto Sales and Skarl Pontiac and Buick. He was a dirt track driver and drove his first racecar at the age of 13 at Hill Top Speedway. Rick held track championships at Lakeville, Mansfield, and Wayne County Speedways. He was easily recognized in the Hall's Auto Sales #240 car and his own #2 car. On Saturday, August 11, 2007 he was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame at Lakeville Speedway. He was very devoted to the sport of racing and competed for 32 years making many, many wonderful friends throughout the years.
Rick is survived by his wife, Loretta Rose Moore; three daughters, Lanetta Ray Mullins, Casey Moore and Tosha Moore, all of Mansfield; three sons, Rickey Moore, Brad Moore and Kyle Moore, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Kalie, Michael, Alicia and Alexus Amick and Isaiah Moore; his parents, Jerry and Helen Browning Moore; two sisters, Cheryl Arthur Stamper and Becky Moore; maternal grandmother, Goldie Browning; one brother, Johnny Moore; two nephews, Kevin and Bobby Stamper, both of Mansfield; two nieces, Stacey Burgess and Amber Hunt, both of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Frieda Randy Shade; two brothers-in-law, Kenny and Brian Rose, both of Mansfield; and mother-in-law, Jean Rose. Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Jerry Moore, Sr., grandmother, Cathaleen Moore, nephew, Jerry Stamper and maternal grandfather, Hunter Browning.

Friends may call Sunday, August 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Castle officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
