Robert Bauer

Robert Bauer, 76, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at his residence. Born April 4, 1933, in Mansfield, he was the son of Andrew and Vivian Mead Bauer. A veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, Robert retired from Gorman Rupp after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #336, the Owls #1152, the VFW #8586, the Amvets, Sons of Herman and the Moose Lodge. Robert was an avid football fan and especially enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed golfing.

Surviving are a brother, Paul Bauer of Perrysville; a niece, Wendy Tong of Wilmington, OH; a nephew, Todd Bauer of Mansfield; a great niece, Andrea; and a great nephew, Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Mansfield Cemetery conducted by Pastor Henry Parker, where military services will be conducted by the American Legion #257 and the VFW #8586. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Lodge #336.
