Robert Allan Blount

He retired as a Corrections Officer from MANCI and attended Grace Episcopal Church. He was a friend and mentor to Mansfield native Roger Stewart ~ a professional body builder and enjoyed going to the gym and working out himself. He loved his Corvettes and owned three of them throughout his lifetime ~ a 1973, 2003 and a 2006. A big animal lover, he was an avid fan of the Florida Gators and the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed building model planes, photography and took great pride in his yard. He always wanted the best for his sons, constantly encouraging them to be the best they could be and to never accept being second best.

He is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Natalie) Blount of Greenville, North Carolina and Robert "Bobby" Andrew Blount of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a grandson, Logan Blount.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half brother, David Blount.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Grace Episcopal Church conducted by Rev. Joe L. Ashby.
