Robert Lee ''Bully'' Mathews, age 90 of 152 Vale Avenue, died Wednesday afternoon September 13, 2000 at Mansfield Memorial Homes following an extended illness. Mr. Mathews was born November 28, 1909 in Greenville, Alabama living in the Mansfield area most of his life. He retired from Ohio Brass.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Graham Mathews; two sons, Robert F. & Steve Mathews both of Mansfield; four daughters, Maenell Foster, Bonnie Sue Dolman, LaVonne Shuler and Paulette Woods all of Mansfield; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; his father, Sgt. Mark Mathews of Washington D.C.; three sisters and a brother all of Washington D.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Earl Dean and Ronnie Mathews; a daughter, Clara and his mother, Bonnie Sue Hall.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. a the funeral home, conducted by Bishop Walter E. Jordan. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
