
Robert "Bob" Coffey, Jr., 71, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his home. Born July 9, 1937 in Norwalk, he was the son of Robert G. Sr. and Martha Herder Coffey. He retired from Therm-O-Disc after 26 years of service and had also worked in the foundry for Ohio Brass. He also had been a driver for Pepsi Cola and Nickles Bakery. Bob was a past member of the Sons of Herman, Amvets Post #26, and the Liederkranz. He loved life and was a man who never met a stranger. Having a passion for old cars, Bob owned a 1964 Falcon and 1957 Metropolitan. Bob enjoyed fishing, and attending flea markets and garage sales. He also enjoyed rock 'n roll, traveling, and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, sharing over 30 years together, Kathleen "Kathy" White Coffey; three daughters, Lisa Steve Stearns, Kimberly Sam Sorrenti Coffey, and Aimee Simpson, all of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob, Brandon, Cameron, and Mariah; one brother, Ronald Carolyn Coffey of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Scott Gossett of Mansfield, and Pamela Scott Pace of Delaware, Ohio; mother-in-law, Marjorie White of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Daniel Chapman.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
