
Robert E. Ehalt, 77, of Mansfield, died Sunday February 23, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following an extended illness. Mr. Ehalt was born July 30, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania residing in the Mansfield area all of his life. He graduated from St. Peters High School and attended Dayton University. He retired from Gorman Rupp Co. as manager of The Division of Wastewater. He was a lifetime member at St. Peters Catholic Church. Mr. Ehalt was past president at Serra Club International, a board member of Catholic Services, a member of Westbrook Country Club and of the Liederkranz. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth C. Weaver Ehalt of Mansfield; one brother, James Frances E. Ehalt II of Indianapolis; one sister, Margaret Soulen of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Mae Johnston of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and Marian and Bob Dietz of East Liverpool, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Pam and John Kinkel of Galeno, Ohio; Kay and Terry Leedy of Lexington; Richard and Cathy Imhoff of Columbus; Kit and Gene Hart of Mansfield; Father Bill Ehalt of Cambridge City; James Ehalt III and his wife, Teresa of Springfield; and Ann and James Collison of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frances and Catherine Ehalt.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
