
Robert L. Hall, 65 of 429 Esley Lane died unexpectedly November 25, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Hall was born March 29, 1935 in Mansfield being a life long resident. He graduated Mansfield Senior High School in 1953. Mr. Hall retired from General Motors and from International UAW Staff after 33 1/2 years of service. He began his career at Ford in Cleveland as a machine apprentice. He then left Ford to begin his career at General Motors in 1957 as a welder maintenance repairman. He served on most Local #549 standing committees before being elected Vice President and then President of Local #549 UAW. He was elected Chairman of GM Sub Council #3 before being appointed to the UAW organizing staff in 1968. In 1973 he was appointed International Representative of UAW Region 2B serving UAW plants of North West Ohio including General Motors Mansfield. Mr. Hall was a veteran of the Marine Corp Reserves, a former Madison Township Trustee, a member of Venus Lodge #152 and Local #549 Retirees. Robert attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, JoAnn Harris Hall; three daughters and one son-in-law, Terry L. Hall of Toledo, Ohio; Tracy L. Carpenter of Mansfield; and Shelly K. and David W. Crace of Mansfield; two granddaughters, Meagan Marie and Kelli Michelle Carpenter of Mansfield; one sister, Colleen Riley of Tampa, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Patricia Hall of West Salem, Ohio; and Patrick and Susan Hall of Mansfield; and a number of nephews, two aunts; one uncle; one niece and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Norma D. Hall.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday November 28, 2000 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Stephen Patrick of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Windsor Park Cemetery.
