
Robert Richard Heston, 68, of Mansfield died Tuesday morning, March 25, 2003 at Lexington Court Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mr. Heston was born December 30, 1934 in Mansfield, Ohio to Nathan Harold & Mary Amelia Darling Heston. He owned and operated Heston Excavating and was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. Robert was a member of the National Ski Patrol at Snow Trails for over 40 years and belonged to the following organizations, Mohican Fly Fishers, AmVets #26 and Mansfield Liederkranz. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, skiing and boating. Mr. Heston was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly & Tim Hoover of Lexington and Lisa & Steve Pollman of Chicago, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jasmine and Hayden Hoover and Geneva Pollman; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sande & Chuck Ervin of Lucas and Darlene & George Yoakam of Columbus; several nieces and nephews including Monte & Ivy Ervin; and his former wife, Jerrina Heston of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
