
Robert L. Holmes, 71, of Mansfield, died Saturday morning, August 13, 2005 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Born April 29, 1934 in Springfield, he was the son of Marion Franklin and Minnie Louise Holmes. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Holmes retired from Case-Maul Manufacturing after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Community Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Ann Yonkovski Holmes; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Estil Jr. and Perla Hoskins of Springfield, Joseph and Donna Hoskins of Monclova, Carl and Melinda Hoskins of Mansfield, and Randy and Chon Hoskins of Shelby; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lenora and Steve Minor of Norwalk; grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Brett Hoskins, Keith Allen Keller, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Sarah, Anita, Sabrina, and Megan Hoskins, and Nicole Keller; two sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Rusty Staats of Fulton, and Betty Mays of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Holmes; sister, Virgie Gardner; and two nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Craft officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
